Zebra Services Agent

Zebra Services Agent (ZSA) is a stand-alone application that consolidates Zebra Services functions into one easy-to-find location.

Current Modules and Features:
  • VIQF Smart Battery Health (available with VisibilityIQ Foresight and Proactive Battery Replacement)
    Real time Alert On Device for batteries with less than 30 days of Remaining Useful Life (RUL)
  • Diagnostic Tool
    Quickly test the hardware, battery, software, and connectivity of Zebra Android mobile computers to determine device health and functionality.
  • Drop Detection
    Real Time Alert on Device when drop is detected. Results stored in Savanna.
  • Enhanced Alerting Mechanism
    Incorporates alerts with pop-ups containing feedback buttons to initiate prompt response from user.
  • Cross Platform Data Collection
    Extends support for non-Zebra devices, gathering data like battery status, device info, application events, and usage patterns. Tested for Honeywell, Datalogic and Samsung.
  • Device Actions
    Enables admins to perform actions like displaying alerts, collecting logs, executing Diagnostic Tool tests, and tracking device location over specified durations.
  • Advanced Management Features
    Remotely trigger log collection for troubleshooting and send messages to devices to facilitate communication directly to users. Outdoor location tracking provides precise monitoring of device locations in real-time.

ZSA with Diagnostic Tool does not support devices with less than Android 10. For those devices, please refer to the appropriate Device Diagnostic Tool version for your OS.

ZSA Supports all Zebra mobile computer devices and tablets operating on Android 10 and above. Supports all "Enterprise Mobility Management tools and has been validated against SOTI, Airwatch and 42Gears.

Requirements

1. Customer must be subscribed to VisibilityIQ Foresight or Proactive Battery Replacement service.

2. ZSA works with Zebra Android mobile computers and tablets.

3. SOTI, Airwatch and 42 Gears have been verified for use with ZSA. However, ZSA may work with other MDMs.

4. Device must be on Android version 10 or above.

5. Device must have ZDS enabled. If devices are behind corporate firewall, ensure the ZDS cloud server can be reached from the devices. The server info and port used by ZDS are listed as below:

Use Ping or a similar network tool to confirm communication between the device network and the ZDS server(s). After you verify the connection, all devices on that network should be able to connect to and send collected data to the server(s). ZDS uses the following, which also must be visible on the network for ZDS operation:

  • connectivitycheck.android.com
  • connectivitycheck.gstatic.com
  • google.com 

Note: Zebra recommends using DNS server names (instead of IP addresses) when whitelisting (aka "allowlisting") to avoid service interruptions (i.e., due to IP address change). 

6. Enable network connectivity on devices (WWAN or WLAN based). ZSA app provides On Device battery alert for VisibilityIQ Foresight and Proactive Battery Replacement Services.
